Course Platform Orientation

Hi. I'm George Cow, and I want to wish you a warm welcome to my course. So you're watching this because you're probably new to my course plaque and I'm gonna take a few minutes to show you around. I think this video is gonna be really helpful as you engage with my courses so that you can actually use it more effectively and efficiently. So let me go ahead and share my screen with you now.
So this is 1 of my courses. In fact, this I think is the foundational to my to my work with clients. If you haven't taken this 1, you might wanna check this 1 out. Anyway, I wanna show you as an example of how to use a course. I'm logged in as a sample user and I'm on my computer.
I will also show you how this works on a mobile device. So first of all, on a computer, the first thing that I really recommend people do is you might wanna just if it says not following, you might wanna click that. And follow the comments from staff, meaning if I have any new comments, you might be interested in seeing it. It's totally optional. If you feel like you're getting too many emails about comments from the courts, you can always come back here and and and click on follow.
So that's that's up to you. So next thing I want to encourage you to do is you can, of course, take any of my courses step by step from the beginning, but I want to encourage you just to scroll through first to see what's available to you and you might actually be interested in a different lesson than what's first because many of my lessons actually stand on their own. So for example, let's say you were interested in this lesson on hat manuals, then go and click on it. And then it on the left hand side, you'll notice that it automatically goes to the, you know, the the correct lesson. And by the way, if it's taking a long time to load, It usually is pretty quick for some reason, the fact that I'm recording this tutorial means that it's not gonna be perfect.
So let's go oh, there you go. It starts it's here now. So but on the left, I wanna show you you can scroll up and down in the left navigation to go to other lessons that might interest you. So once you get here, click on the play button to begin. I'm gonna pause it right now so I don't hear myself.
Sometimes there are templates and links. So be sure to click on the buttons or the links that you see alongside the videos to see what you know, what these things are and then further down sometimes there's other content. Now if you scroll all the way down, you will be able to mark the lesson as complete And I recommend doing that once you have watched a lesson just to let just to kinda give you your own tracking that okay. I've at least watched it. You you know, let me go ahead and do this right now.
Mark is complete. Okay? So it goes automatically to the next lesson. You do wanna return and notice that it says 1 slash 1, which means I have completed watching 1 lesson out of the 1 lesson in this module. So I'm just gonna go back here and and and, you know, click on the lesson again.
And again, my apologies if it's taking a little while to load. Easily as fast with this, but it'll come up eventually. But I wanna show you further down here. It's just well done. I've completed a lesson because I've watched it.
I want to encourage you if you like a lesson especially, it really is helpful to me if you can click like and if you can add a comment for, you know, telling me what particularly you'd liked about the lesson, maybe a particular concept, exercise, etcetera. Or if you have any questions, you can you can add a comment here. There's a lot you can do with a comment. You can bold it. It's house size words, etcetera.
Add links. You know, you can even add block quotes. Anyway, this kind of fancy. What you can do here with the comments, testing 123, and with quick post comment here. And then you can reply to your own comment or add add new comments to start a new thread.
You might also once you add a comment, you might wanna click Instead of not following, you might want to follow comments from staff, meaning me and others in my team, or follow everyone, meaning comments for this particular lesson. So just be aware that that's available. Okay. I think that's oh, by the way, you can also market incomplete, if you want to say, well, I haven't actually watched the lesson yet. So I'm gonna I'm gonna mark this incomplete.
So that's that's the option there. So now I'm gonna go ahead and show you what it looks like on the mobile browser. So you will see that in the next video.

If curious why I use this platform versus Kajabi or others, here are the reasons.

Love the 'mark as complete' for personal tracking, too (and the 'Well done!' hee). All seems so clear and 'easy' ! Love the structure. Thanks George :)

Thank you, George for the handholding here. I would have missed the "following" feature without this orientation so glad I watched it.
