In late 2023, I moved from Captivate over to Substack because they host podcasts for free and have a growing network / recommendation engine. (Even if you joined Captivate already, when you cancel your podcasts there, they generously provide a free redirect for life to your new host.) Substack makes it easy to move podcasts over there: https://support.substack.com/hc/en-us/articles/360037830571-How-do-I-move-my-podcast-to-Substack- Once it's moved over, you should follow the launch checklist again to make sure all the platforms have your NEW rss feed. Note -- don't start a new podcast at Apple, but change the feed of the existing podcast. Then record a quick episode for your old feed to ask people to go over to the new one. (Sample audio above.) Here's what I wrote for the show notes: Title: (Action required) You are subscribed to the wrong feed... Body: I've moved my podcast from Captivate over to Substack :) Find me here instead: https://georgekao.substack.com If you need a Podcast RSS feed URL, here it is: https://api.substack.com/feed/podcast/1993210.rss Then keep your old podcast host (Captivate, in my case) for at least another month, so that your listeners can download that transition episode and know where to go for your new podcast.
