"Is Instagram just for younger people?"

Alright. Great question here about somebody from somebody who hasn't used Instagram even as a user and wondering, well, will it really enhance my business? And is it just about finding a younger audience? No. Absolutely not.
I mean, if you look at the age ranges on Instagram, it goes from, you know, to teenagers to people in their eighties. So it's all ages, truly. It's just that because of the numbers well, think about it this way. Instagram has, I think, close to 2,000,000,000 people using it on a monthly basis. 2,000,000,000 people.
I mean, how many bill how many people are on on planet Earth? Right? We have all close to I forget now. 8,000,000,000 now, something like that. But think about it.
It's like 1 quarter of planet Earth is using Instagram on a monthly basis. It's all ages. I mean right. So, it's not the younger audience. It's a more spiritual audience.
So are you trying to reach more spiritual people? If yes, then Instagram is better than Facebook. Okay. Are you trying to reach a more entrepreneurial people? Are you trying to reach people who are more into personal development, who are more holistic, if you wanna say it that way, or more like their values are more open to experiences and to diversity?
Is that true of what you're trying to reach? Then Instagram is a good audience for that. Also more artsy, more into arts, more into political things as well for sure. All of those things tend to trend a little bit younger, but trust me, I mean, there are still tens of millions of people who use Instagram in their sixties seventies, out of 2,000,000,000 people. So so there's there's plenty.
And, just like any social media platform, it takes some getting used to. Well, I mean, for the casual Instagram user, it's not that hard because they open it and then they see pictures and videos. And it's very simple. They can click the heart button, then they keep going. So it's not it's not it's actually some people might actually find it easier than Facebook because you usually open it and then there's these big pictures and these big videos.
Right? I tend to notice that people engage more with my Instagram content than with my Facebook content because it's so large compared to Facebook, which has, like, little words. You know, sometimes people just type words without any images or videos. Instagram, no. You have to have an image or a video.
So it's just very large and it's very much more easy to much more likely that people will engage with you there. So but but just like any social media platform, it takes time to build up an audience. Whether you're talking Facebook or LinkedIn or any other platform, It takes time of using it and first inviting your ideal some of the people you already know. Remember, first step, if you haven't already done so, well, make an introductory post. But second step, if you haven't already done so, have you invited your friends?
Have you invited your clients, if you have any? Have you invited your past clients, if you have any? Have you have you invited your classmates and colleagues? That might be referral sources for you. Have you invited them to follow you on Instagram?
Well, if not, that's really a good next step. So besides putting your introductory post up. So it makes sense? It takes it takes time. And just give yourself that time.
And and if you're creating content elsewhere, you might as well put it on Instagram. Right? Because you went through the trouble of creating it. It just takes you another couple minutes perhaps. I don't know how it'll it'll get faster as you go repurposing content.
Take you another couple minutes to also put on Instagram has benefit for for all. So I hope this is helpful. And, yes, also and thanks to Ruth for mentioning also people who are more nature oriented. Absolutely. Yes.
More into the environment and spending time outdoors, etcetera. And Ruth also said, you know, one thing I find is that when you post on Instagram, former clients remember you, which means I hope you have invited them and or if you have an email list or if you have other social media platforms, let them know. Hey, folks. I'm now trying the Instagram thing. If you use Instagram, which a lot of people do, like, because they're 2,000,000,000 people.
Right? It's like, one out of 4 one out of 4 people you randomly see on the Internet or in life probably use Instagram. Okay? And then and then cities, it's the number is probably higher. Right?
But, yeah, if you, you know, Ruth is saying if if former clients may remember you and book appointments or begin following your work again. You know? So so absolutely. So that's a that's a good reason why you wanna keep showing up.
