Feeling behind in business 7:22
You're not "behind" 🙏🏼🧡

Most of us feel behind. Behind in numbers of followers... or income... or simply clarity about our business strategy and what we should be doing on a typical Tuesday afternoon when you're staring at your to-do list and nothing feels like the right priority. If that resonates, you're not alone. It's a common feeling among soulpreneurs! But let's reframe this—because feeling behind isn't helpful. It keeps us stuck in comparison and self-judgment, which drains the very energy we need to move forward. The reframe: You're right where you need to be. I know that might sound like a platitude, but I mean it practically. Wherever you are in your business journey, that's your starting point. And a clear starting point is exactly what you need to move forward with focus instead of overwhelm. The problem isn't that you're behind. The problem is that most business advice doesn't account for where you actually are. It throws strategies at you without helping you understand which ones fit your current situation. That's what we're going to fix. What's next: In the next lesson, I'll introduce the 5 Levels of Soulpreneur Business Development—a simple map that shows you the full landscape of building an authentic business. Once you can see the map and locate yourself on it, everything changes. You stop trying to do everything at once. You stop borrowing strategies meant for someone three levels ahead of you. And you finally know what to focus on—and what to let go of—right now.  Let's take a look at that map...  Feel free to comment below: Have you been feeling "behind"? What does that look like for you—comparison to a specific person? Pressure about a particular metric? Sometimes just naming it loosens its grip. 🙏🏼🧡

How might I reframe when I'm feeling behind:
Self talk: I'm on my own path. My journey is unique to me.
Feeling behind means that I want more. More out of life. More from myself. It's a reminder to stay on the path to a deeper expression of who I am. That there is potential to grow and learn.
Also knowing that people who appear 'ahead of me' probably experience a sense that they are behind too.

@Leah Cooper so true!  Everyone always had people "ahead of them" to compare to. And I love your reframing that feeling behind means you want more/potential.

JK

@Leah Cooper I love your framing the “behind” feeling as a call to stay for deeper expression. I think it’s easy to stay surface level in our culture, but deeper requires our own timing.

LG

@Jennifer Kogut "but deeper requires our own timing" resonates as so true, and in my case, one of the biggest challenges has been to allow, accept, and embrace the UNPREDICTABILITY of my own timing.

@Laura Greiner yes! allow, surrender, accept, trust.  and hilarious gifs -- thank you 😄

JK

@Laura Greiner I love that! Unpredictability + humor = life :D

Welcome to BizPlan 3:55
Welcome 🤗

Welcome! 😊 I'm so glad you're here. Before we dive into the content, I want you to take a moment to feel the energy of this space... Right now, soulpreneurs just like you are gathered here—coaches, healers, artists, consultants, and heart-centered service providers. Each one is committed to doing work that brings more beauty, meaning, and upliftment to the world. That's what makes this community special. You're not surrounded by people chasing shortcuts or hype. You're alongside people who care deeply about the how of business, not just the results. Take a breath and let that land. ✨ What you'll gain in this module: A simple map of the 5 Levels — so you can see the full landscape of business development for a soulpreneur, and locate yourself on it A clear picture of the 7 Practices — the core ways to grow an authentic business, so you know what's effective to focus on One small experiment — a doable action for the next 7 days that fits where you actually are No overwhelm. Just clarity and one next step :) A note on how we'll work together: This definitely isn't about perfection, or pressure. It's about honest reflection and gentle/sustainable forward movement. I'll share frameworks, but I invite you to feel into what resonates, and always feel welcome to offer your feedback/suggestions in the comments. Your intuition matters here just as much as what's being taught "to" you. Also, as you see fellow soulpreneurs comment, I hope you'll take a moment and reply to 2 others' comments for every one that you create. This keeps a healthy balance in our course community, and your replies will be encouraging for those commenters. Thank you! Let's begin. 🙏🏼🧡

I LOVE how easily you mention helping "hundreds of clients". I can say the same (I think), but I'm often flustered, or pause around these kinds of statistics. [Do I need to go back and count?] Maybe I think of it as a (potentially) flashy or egoic thing. And, what I get from your ease in mentioning that (not bragging) is that I can unhook from being so attached to any stats - that what I bring (sincerity wise, authenticity wise) is more important than some kind of "impressive" numbers. Though, it does point me to percolate about the line between under and over promoting.

@Steve Harper an insightful noticing! Thank you for sharing this.

LG

@Steve Harper I appreciate your insightful share. "I can unhook from being so attached to any stats - that what I bring (sincerity wise, authenticity wise) is more important than some kind of "impressive" numbers" is very relevant in my 'lack of stats' case.

@Steve Harper I resonated a lot with this! For me, I observed it's a mix of thoughts like ... "am I flexing something and signalling in a power over someone way" or a "am I sharing the breadth of my experience with dimming my light"? I haven't quite been able to locate how they both feel different within the body, although I am beginning to feel like the quality of presence + grounding I am able to hold could guide me towards practicing holding experience without needing to be flashy. Looking forward to how you journey through in your way ^^

I'm not sure if I love this or feel guilty for all the courses I have not completed. Can't wait to populate my "Steph's Addiction" tracker.  Thank you @George Kao

@Stephanie Morrison of all possible addictions, this one is not so bad :)

@Stephanie Morrison I'm the same... Oof! Here's to completion of those courses that are still meaningful to us :)

@Stephanie Morrison Haha! See you in The Sage's Golden Path!

What is Deliberate Practice and my background with it 19:15
What is Deliberate Practice and my background with it

What comes to mind when you hear "Deliberate Practice"? What are your initial thoughts and feelings about applying this concept to your work and life?

AL
Anyā Likhitha 🔤 ABC

My first thought was thinking about my artistic practice and also how I was taught in photography school. As an artist, I think of deliberate to approach what I'm shaping/creating/exploring with rigour (but not pressure) - with the discerning eye of being able to see something different that will inform me something new to keep proceeding on the path of exploration.

In photography school, which was more vocational training, we were in the studio 7am and left 7pm - we turned up everyday and practiced, to the point where so much of it is unconscious activity. I recall our market/outdoor photography, we spent 5-6 months going to the same market everyday 5 days a week and all we had to do was capture photos. It was frustrating, not obvious why we were made to do it until we came out on the other side so intuitive with noticing stories/ light/ finding the frame and navigating gear. Same went for the studio equipment and conditions. That is when I realised after doing 10,000 hours of deliberate photography practice, there was still so much I didn't know/ had not created or captured yet.

@Anyā Likhitha Your story is such a good reminder for me to 'follow the simple directions'!

Welcome to Authentic Market Discovery 3:34
Welcome to the course! + Our community values

A warm welcome here! I encourage us to see this course as a community... not comments from random people, but rather, focused comments about specific topics, from your kindred spirits 😊 The most important part of a community is its culture. Each of us (who participate here) influence the culture with every interaction we have here.  A few values to keep in mind: Comment once, reply twice. For each comment you make, look for 2 other comments (especially ones with few replies) and add a reply – with your encouragement and suggestions (if appropriate). This helps to balance the comment/reply ratio, and gives you practice in seeking and giving support here. Notice and name each others' energy signatures. Each person's presence is unique, and each person has their strengths. It can be difficult for us to notice our own, and easier to notice others'. Whenever you notice someone's comment that refers to something personal to them, try to name something that you appreciate. We all have a fear of being fully seen. Let’s help each other feel accepted and received. Co-Learning Community. Nobody here (not even the "teacher") knows everything about market research/discovery... it's a rich process that can be customized greatly to each person's way of doing things, so let's create a co-learning environment here. Even I as a "teacher" can and will learn from your shares too! Share generously. Be supportive of others here. If you discover something that works, or hear about a great tip that helps with market discovery, please do share it with us. Comment under the appropriate lesson if possible, or if not sure where, just comment below. Sharing will make this course better for all of us! Keep all sharings confidential.  Let's keep this a safe space for sharing by promising to keep all comments (particularly the personal ones) confidential. Let me know below if these values are helpful, and if you have any suggestions. The values we embody here is what makes this course experience amazing for each other 😊 If no comments below and no ability to comment, first log into this course.

LG

This welcome is....well....warm and wonderful, George! I appreciate how you emphasize that this course is really a co-learning community and that the 'culture' we create with every interaction is most important.

The values you outline, including many practical participation tips, are extremely helpful for someone like me who is typically more of an in the background lone ranger. (In the past; I'm choosing to discover, develop, and practice new habits with this co-learning community!)

EL

@Laura Greiner I totally relate to the lone ranger thing. For me it's been necessary to develop my own unique offering, but I'm intent on learning to move past that to both live out my uniqueness and do it in connection.

Welcome to Energy Signature! + Our community values

A warm welcome here! I see this course as a community... but it’s not just random comments from random people, but rather, focused comments about specific topics, from your kindred spirits. The most important part of a community is its culture. I consider each of us to be culture-setters. We influence the culture with every interaction we have here.  A few values I recommend that we keep in mind: Comment once, reply twice. For each comment that you make, look for 2 other people's comments (especially ones with few comments) and add a reply – with your encouragement and suggestions (if appropriate). This helps to balance the comment/reply ratio, and gives you practice in seeking and giving support in this community. Notice and name each others' energy signatures. Each person's presence is unique, and each person has their strengths. It can be difficult for us to notice our own, and easier to notice others'. Whenever you reply to someone’s comment, try to name something, however small, that you appreciate about their energy signature. We all have a fear of being fully seen. Let’s help each other feel fully accepted and received. Receive deeply what others see/feel from you. It’s a meaningful practice. It’ll help you integrate and express better your energy signature.  Let me know below if these values are helpful, and if you have any suggestions. The values we embody together here is what makes this course experience amazing for each other 😊 (If you don't see any comments below, it means you're not logged into the course, or perhaps not enrolled. If you haven't enrolled, you can do so here.)

These values are perfect for cultivating a beautiful community energy signature! Thank you, George.
