Taking George's advice on this one, and announcing it before I start working on it!
I'm going to be hosting a workshop-style webinar on turning a wall-of text into something more accessible for the reader.
I'm playing with the idea that "copywriting" is an intimidating concept, like a class we missed in high school and now we don't know how to approach it....and we know we're supposed to be writing in a particular way to get sales.
But really, the more I think about t, the more wrong that sounds, and feels.
It discounts the reader's ability to make a good decision for themselves.
I see copywriting, or any writing we're doing for our businesses, as an opportunity to make connections with our readers, and one of the way we do this is through how we format our writing. Lots of people I work with come to me with the question of what to do with a piece of writing that looks like a wall of text.
How do we break it up into manageable chunks, what kind of headings should we use, how do we keep the eyeballs moving down the page, so that our words connect?
These are all really great questions, and exactly what I'll be talking about, and exploring with you, in this workshop.
Details need working out, and I'm open to suggestions of topic if you have specific questions for me.
For now, here's the date: October 11, 12-2 pm EST. I'll be adding details here, and if you want me to tag you as I do, let me know in the comments.
