To have a financially sustainable business will require you to have a sustainable time/energy management structure for you to work on your business. I'll call that your "joyful productivity structure". What does that look like for you? Comment below and share with us anything you'd like to share about your structure. Resource to help you create -- and keep integrity with -- your joyful pro structure: The 111 Formula -- Go to the BizPlan course and scroll down to the 111 Formula Module. The Weekly Plan -- Go to Joyful Pro course and scroll down to the module "Weekly Planning". The Q&A calls with me -- they start in January -- come to any Q&A call and ask for help to clarify your structure. Your monthly call with your Accountability Buddy (starting in January) is where you can revisit your structure, what you're learning about it (and about yourself), and recommit to the integrity of the structure. Besides adding your comment below, also look at some of the latest comments -- what do you appreciate about what they wrote? What can you learn from it? This space has been so helpful for my business, I'm glad to be able to share it with other soul led entrepreneurs!
George Kao's Focusmate Group Yes, everything in business is spirit-based, but don’t use that as an excuse to not be organized. 😄
Even a single drip of water can create flow.
Thanks for all these reminders!!
So inspiring and encouraging!
Ok, so maybe the hive mind here can help me...
Part of why I'm enrolled in ABC this year is because I want to organize and structure my business in a better way. I am pulled in many different directions, and often have an unpredictable schedule due to working with horses and needing to flow with the best weather patterns (which has been exceptionally challenging lately... 🙄)
I have found the writing/visual things help me.
I have used the Monk Manual some in the past, but I'm not sure I get enough out of it to warrant the $132 annually that it costs.
I had an idea for creating something like a visual planner, and have toyed with several different variations and none of them are quite working out the way I hoped at this point. So maybe someone here can give me some ideas.
I do use a google calendar pretty religiously, but there is something about it that isn't quite meeting the need that I am craving to keep myself organized.
SO, what I am visualizing in my head is some sort of weekly planner that has 7 days, with (probably) 30m time slots from about 7am through 6pm. (15 minute slots seem like too many). I'd like to be able to drag and drop a series of blocks into the spaces (whether this is physically onto paper, on a magnetic board, or on some sort of powerpoint/jamboard type space on the computer).
Part of what I am looking for is being able to have X number of "work slots" of various types that I can literally PLACE into my calendar so I can see where my time is best used. I have an obligation weekly to exercise my friend's horses, and that takes a certain amount of time, I want to be able to take that block of time and drop it where ever it needs to be weekly (on the best weather day and/or the day without any other meetings).
The tangible aspect of this is part of what I think I'm craving. I have a fairly large white board that I could dedicate this to... but then the next issue is where would I put the white board?! I like the idea of colored block magnets of various sizes that I can stick in where I need to, and move them around as I need to.
The idea that I have X number of business work blocks each week would be really helpful for my brain.
So hive mind - any suggestions?? This needs to be simple enough that I'll use it, and functional enough that it will make my life better.
Bonus points for being physically tangible, but also digital might not be too bad if I can figure out how to execute it in a way that's easy to use/access.
I ended up going back to the google calendar and working with colors and different calendars…
my Playful productivity calendar has purple for creative tasks, blue for netcaring, and orange for admin.
my regular google calendar is connected to calendly and has appointments i leave the house for in green, zooms in pink and zooms in leading in red.
i can drag things around, and make them longer or shorter by pulling….
it seems to be working so far for me.
Just thought i’d share in case it’s helpful to you or anyone!
i look forward to hearing what you find as far as options for writing on paper… id still like to add that in!
