The experience of uploading first YT video and finding flow for regular creating - Shoubhik's example

Here is Shoubhik's first ever YouTube video! Besides the comments below (if any), also check out the live chats from zoom for this segment here. (This is a preview segment. I did my first Facebook Live today, posted it to Youtube, and used a tool that made it into shorts, 7 of which I really like and will use!

LN

@Jill Binder I have been wanting to segment some of my longer videos, what tool do you use? Thanks!

SC

@Lenore Norrgard I use a tool called Riverside.fm, which uses AI to find shorter segments. It's a paid software but I find it the best one to stream my piano lessons so it's worth it for me.

Students: your way of organizing courses you'd like to take?

I'm in process of putting together a way of visualizing the list of my courses, and will share it in the coming weeks. And -- I've heard that some of you have already put together your own list! :) I love seeing different ways of visualizing and organizing info, so I welcome you to comment below with yours 😊 In your comment you can click on the paperclip icon to attach a file (such as a photo or screenshot) ...or if you want to share with us a document or spreadsheet, I recommend putting it on google drive, and then click the "share" button for that document/sheet, and put that link in your comment. Thank you. I look forward to seeing and learning from a diversity of ways 🙏🏼 (If you don't see any comments below, it means you're currently logged out, or don't have access to this course.)

@Heather Tobin THANK YOU!!! Copied and will sit with this tomorrow to prioritize. I appreciate how simple and visually uncluttered this is.

@Mary Veerkamp My pleasure! Would love to hear how it works out for you!

@Heather Tobin it was really helpful to sit with this list in your simplified format and just recognize that I didn't want to have to prioritize or choose -- I want to do them all!!! AND, I'm not going to get anywhere if I'm trying to take on too much at once, so there has already been impact in using the tool to help me consider where my priorities lie in the immediate term, a littler further out, and longer range -- as well as the "extra-curricular" play :)

YB

@Heather Tobin Thank you! I filled in the list for myself, which was enjoyable and now serves as a great overview.

I'll have to talk about the courses in 2024 during Q&A's (or find out over time), but I'm sure about YouTube and Speaking. Those will be some of my topics for the next year. But it's always so hard to choose with George's courses. They all sound VIC (Very Important Course) 😅

Thank you

@Heather Tobin , I download your sample a month ago and then I lost the thread to thank you 😆 But here I am. I did some changes to adapt to my needs but the basic idea come from you. I really appreciate you sharing it!

@Ana Maria Cardoso Oh Fabulous!! So grateful it's still helping folks.

There's a little heart at the top of this thread near the title that you can "favourite"... that might help you in future find things more quickly too :)

Are you allowed to share my course materials with your assistant / team?

Over the years I've been asked this multiple times, and the following is my current response. I'm open to your feedback and suggestions however...  1. If your assistant is a freelancer and therefore helping others with their businesses (not only yours), then it doesn't seem right that they get free access to my paid courses... they should sign up, because it's part of their own education / business expense to grow their abilities to serve multiple clients. It's a tax deductible expense for them, and it's likely to give them many times in financial return, since they'll be charging for these skills for years to come. If they're hesitant and you're desperate for their use of my materials, then you can consider splitting the cost with them? 2. However, if it's a team member that only works with your business (or if it's a spouse/family member), then yes you can share my course materials with them... except that they shouldn't comment/reply under your name.  If they want to engage with me separately (on Q&A calls) and with the community under their own name, they should have their own membership :) 3. Ultimately, I have no intention nor energy to police anyone! So, do what feels right to you 🙏🏼 Let me know if this feels fair... remember, I'm a solopreneur not a big company... and I'm open to any suggestions!  Thank you. (If you don't see any comments below, it means you're currently logged out, or don't have access to this course.)

Very fair and makes total sense!

Etiquette for sending private messages: text, audio, or video?

Whether privately messaging someone via email, social media DM, or mobile text, which is better... writing, audio, or video? Here's my personal rule: 1. Writing is most respectful because it's the quickest for the other person to read. 2. The more of a relationship I have with someone, the more they'll likely be patient enough to listen to my audio / watch my video message to them... yet, if it's something I'm asking for / requesting, it's still more respectful to write if possible.  3. If recording audio/video, try to keep it under 1 minute 😅 and more about sharing emotion... not information, which can be shared via writing. 4. Except if I'm volunteering help to someone / doing them a favor, then audio/video longer is fine, but aim for no more than 3 minutes unless it's really super helpful to go longer 😄 5. Another exception -- if I'm responding to a client/student on a Q&A call and it's a video that will be watched by others, then of course, going longer (as you know I do!) than 3 minutes is normal 😂 What are your feelings when receiving a private message from someone you don't know super well?  Do you prefer writing, audio, or video?  Comment and let's discuss below.  You're allowed to disagree with me 😊 (If you cannot see -- or write -- comments below, it means you're not logged in.)

AS

It depends, on the person, how well I know them and how much I want to share. If I'm outside but want to reply to someone, I will probably send an audio message. Sometimes it;s nice to hear other people's voices. and if someone creates a personal video to talk to me, then I appreciate that

Energy signature class-wide exercise - recognize each other's ES 4:12
Notice and help name each others' energy signatures...

The most valuable part of this course is the natural filtering process that gathered us here: we each resonated with the energy of this course, then cared enough about working on becoming keen observers and expressers of energy signature, to be here! Let's utilize this precious opportunity 💛 Step 1 -- Find a piece of content that you believe strongly reflects your energy signature. It could be a video, piece of writing, an image you created, a podcast episode, a webpage, or a social media post. Step 2 -- Add a comment below and give us the link to that piece of content. (First make sure it is publicly accessible, so we can see/experience it.) Don't tell us what part of your energy signature it expresses. Let us discover it for ourselves. If you don't yet have a piece to share with us, just go to Step 3 for now and reply to others' pieces. In the (near) future come back when you have a piece to share with us and take the above steps. Step 3 -- Reply to 2 other people's comments, especially if they haven't received any replies yet, to let them know: What aspect of their energy signature is very apparent for you... try to name something that other repliers haven't yet named... ...and also, what potential do you see with their energy signature that you'd love to see them strengthen? Enjoy this exercise! Besides the comments below (scroll down), also check out the live chats from zoom for this segment here.
