Hi SoulGym Community,
I'm Jason! I am an Executive Leadership and Performance Coach and Men's work and breathwork facilitator ... my work is transformation, connecting us to our true self and inspiring the human spirit. I am a husband and father of 3 toddlers and meet fatherhood and leading my family with great reverence and cherish the responsibility to love my family deeply. I take responsibility for a better future for how I show up for my family and community.
I share lightly on LinkedIn and Instagram, would like to add FB at some point (need to figure out how to delete my past first haha). I post some writing on substack, not consistently. Basically, I have no real presence nor focus nor when I do post it doesn't really connect to my work.
I am here because I want to step into my voice this year, speak from love and expansion in everything I do, and, at the same time use content creation as a way to create more clarity in what the hell it is exactly that I do. I have been doing this for 2 years now, 1 year full time and have a pretty sustainable business - I want to create more abundance and consistency through being seen and heard in the world. Social media activates the sh*t out of me, ups and downs and a lot of nervous system freeze, totally triggers my performance, abusive inner critic, and perfectionist, and shuts me down. This is a big reason I could use love and support along the journey. I joke but I'd rather be in a gunfight than post on social media is how I often feel.
My ideal client is men in their 30s/40s who are deeply committed to leading their lives, families, and business/teams and creating meaning, vitality, freedom, and love. I think of my work being at the intersection of high performance and humanity, I call it Gone Beyond Performance ... creating success more deeply rooted in values and inner fulfillment and the material success is a byproduct. My biggest tension was creating success and inner peace.
I think about my work as the Leader's Journey. Cultivating and practicing leadership through an ontological lens and masculine embodiment. Building and nurtiring a resilient and adaptable nervous system to leverage the skill of stress. Creating physcial vitality by nailing the basics from a mind, body, spirit perspective. Embracing spirituality as a way of living and leading with more unity, heart, and soul and as a commitment to something bigger than us. I have also done some training on mental performance see value in those tools as well. My background was as a 2-sport DI athlete and combat leader in the Marine Corps.
I primarily do 1x1 work, 6-12 month contracts and just starting group coaching and men's work groups.
I am leaning into speaking with clarity and conviction about what matters to me and my work. And, men's and breathwork work is a new endeavor that inspires me .. plan to create more groups, create live retreats, and speaking for this year. Collaboration would be awesome, I crave being on teams and in partnership in this work.
Hi SoulGym Community,

Imagine 20 people you love to work with – they enjoy your style and skills just as you are now, without you needing to change or improve anything – and you enjoy them as well. Part of this work – as all work of "authentic business" – is to practice believing in the value of your skills and presence, and stepping more into your authentic service-oriented power. Those 20 people probably already in your life/network right now. Draw them forth by writing a heartfelt description of them... You're welcome to comment below as you tell us about them – anything you can tell us is great, their inner characteristics, outer (visible) demographics, their interests, and most importantly – why they like and trust you. And what they believe that you can support them with. No perfection needed here... just write what comes to you. You can always update it later – and likely will :) After writing your comment, turn around and comment on 2 others' descriptions, especially if you resonate or know someone who is exactly like that! :) Just because you reply to someone's comment doesn't mean that you'll get a spot as part of their 20 ;-) but later in this course, if there's still space, and it seems aligned for the time being, they might reach out to you with a gentle invitation to play :-)
My 20 people are (at least at this point in my process) women who are interested in their own growth, committed to their own well-being and learning, they're curious, kind, warm, with a sense of humor and a bit of irreverence (and not offended by a few F bombs). They trust and feel safe with me without my need to "convince" them. Open to examining the ways that they learned to keep themselves safe in order to bring some playful experimentation into their lives in service to their own well-being, their own self-discovery. They're willing to try things that might be challenging, new, outside of their "usual" -- e.g., mindfulness practices, guided visualizations, experiential exercises - and can allow the discomfort of being a beginner. They are generally in a place in life where they want to get back in touch with who they are and what enlivens them, what brings them vitality, what really matters to them in this life. They are ready to navigate their way back home to themselves.
Love this!
My 20 people:
- Laugh at my jokes
- Appreciate that I show up as I am, in whatever form, could be a hot mess, could be comedy hour, could be serious zone, could be dealing with my own life sh!t -- I don't hide things.
- Love that I am *real* and not showing up as an ‘all-knowing-pseudo-guru’
- Are spiritually inclined vs. religious
- Already believe in a higher power of some kind and don’t need convincing
- People who aren’t afraid to break free of the paradigms and systems we’ve been under the spell of (patriarch, colonization etc)
- They trust me because I’ve been in the trench before, they know I’m coming from experience and not a text book.
- They love to explore the inner workings of their soul-space
- They can laugh at themselves
- They are well versed on self accountability (even if they still need support and guidance like we all do from time to time) but they are beyond the ‘woe-is-me’ mentality.
- They like that I am powerful, opinionated and strong, because it helps them feel safe, at ease and know that I don’t pull any punches, but hold them in the most tender and compassionate way
- They know my work, or have at least spent a significant amount of time paying attention to what I put out in the world
- Or… someone has introduced them to my work and is a keen and reliable reference even if they are brand new to my work, they’ve been doing their own healing and work elsewhere for quite some time
- Are okay with being not okay – because they trust and know that the dark times always eventually lead us to healing and harmony
Thank you
Wow
Love the part about "don't need convincing". I think so often we are are focused on the direction people want to go in next, we forget to celebrate where they have already arrived.
My 20 initiates are exploring who they really are, and why they are here in this lifetime
They are Modern Mystics, with one foot in humanity, and one connected with and aware of the energetic.
They want to feel at Home here in their bodies, with all of their divine gifts, so that they can be of greater service to the world.
They are already familiar with meditation, yoga, healing practices, and want to deepen their awareness of the bigger 'themes' in life, so that they can consciously choose what they create and experience.
They are often Intuitive, Highly Sensitive, Empathic, and are potentially struggling with their sensitivities, but also want to explore the super powers inherent in them.
They are curious about the cycles of life and death, seasons, astrology, and want to harness the potential for awakening within each journey/cycle.
They are dedicated leaders, artists, pioneers, creatives, that want to share with the world as Service Leaders.
They are devoted to a spiritual path, seekers, explorers, adventurers at heart.
Hey
Men who seek to build deep connections, freedom from their minds into their hearts, and open the door to a spiritual life - one rooted in philosophy but more action. Know who they are, shift their perspectives, and move into a life of creation and cause. Men rooted in action and transforming the world by starting with their own lives, and then in their homes as fathers and husbands, and then into their businesses and communities. Men who are ready to heal so they can live a more joyful, loving, and powerful life. Men willing to be wrong, ok with being in the unknown, and in the exploration of big questions. A community committed to something bigger than ourselves, respect for nature, and reverence for life. They trust me because I model these qualities and meet them with a deep, loving presence that they feel and I am just as much on the journey as they are - we are all partners. Stop there for now ...
Love this@Jason Blydell ! In summary, your men are: seekers, builders, connectors, heart-ers, action-ers, shifters, movers, transformers, healing healers, humble explorers, and nature and life reverers! Sounds really good 🙏
