Somebody tell me who the hell it is because it's not true. It's not true.I mean, I've I've been an online marker since 2009.Can you imagine how many times I've dealt with this question?I don't know.

Somebody's telling somebody out there, Google doesn't like duplicate content. The duplicate content penalty, George, that's the most basic thing you learn in in Google.No.Baloney.Do you have you have no idea what a duplicate content penalty means?

It means somebody who is a spammer and who creates 100 of websites duplicating certain usually, it's like ecommerce catalog that's being duplicated into 100 of websites. It's not about you, solpreneur blogger, who has your content on your website and LinkedIn and Substack and Medium and fill in the blank other blog platform. It's not about that.Do Google is not gonna duplicate that.Valerie, thank you for saying that.

Who the hell are you hearing that from?I'm not yelling at you.I'm yelling at the general thousand of people who've asked me this question.Like, who's I wanna talk to that guy and shake them.Like, why are you telling everybody this?

This is you know, you're misunderstanding duplicate content penalty. It's not to do with blog posting. It's called syndication. It's called syndication. You're syndicating your content, and Google understands that.

There is one drawback, which is Substack's search engine powers are stronger than your probably stronger than your website search engine powers. So when someone Googles, whatever keyword that your article comes up for, Substack's probably gonna win.So your substack version is gonna show up higher than your own website's version.Got it?So that's the one drawback.

Do you if you publish the same thing on your substack and website, they'll probably find your substack version, not your website version.I think that's fine because you would rather use Substack's powerful SEO and be found higher on all keywords than your websites. Most of us solopreneurs don't have the Substack SEO team.So we can't have as great of a Google juice power as Substack does.So long story short, end of, rant.

Don't worry about it.I post the same thing.I post the same thing everywhere, website, Substack, Medium, LinkedIn, and I think it's only been good for my overall brand because, basically, you want people to find your writing.Right?Do you care that they find they must find my writing on my website, not on my Substack even though they'll be far less likely to find my writing on Google from my website?
2:43
Much more likely to find your writing on Google on your substack. So there you go.I hope that helps. And if if anyone else is a SEO expert and has some nuance to explain below, please feel free to do that.I'm sure, there's things I need to learn too.
