Make sure you create a "real" publication not a "merged with profile" type...

Substack has 2 types of "publications"... a basic type (merged with profile) and what they consider an "advanced" type (which is what we're teaching in this course). 

The advanced type isn't more overwhelming than the basic type... so we recommend going with the advanced because it gives you more features, such as "Sections" (we'll talk about this later) and the ability to add team members if you wish. 

Both types of publications are free, so you might as well go for advanced / full-featured!
