One of the methods I'm really happy to have shared with the world, and this is actually in a free blog post and, a free video and you can click on the link below to get there.
It's called the tapering strategy.
But, of course, here in this course, I'm really happy for for us to have a deeper discussion about it.
And if you want to ask any questions about it, just comment below this lesson, and I'm happy to respond to whatever because this is a free blog post, free video, and it's out there.
But a lot of people don't.
A lot of you, like, look at the goal, kind of a cool idea, but they don't do it.
And so I'm hoping that in this course, you're serious enough about creating a valuable offer and pricing appropriately that you will actually apply the tapering strategy to your offers.
So here's how it works.
The tapering strategy, you can read the blog post, watch the other video for, like, more in-depth, and then we can discuss it here in this lesson below this video comment.
But the way it basically works is imagine on your work with me page or on your offer page.
Let's say one to one offer.
On your one to one, hire me as your coach, for example.
Okay.
Healer, consultant, therapist, whatever.
Hire me page.
You have obviously the description of your offer and all the stuff we've already worked on to make your offer valuable.
You have the description there.
But then you have not one booking calendar to say, alright.
Book your session here kind of thing.
But you have to and by the way, I'm I'm assuming that you allow people to book per session.
And if you allow people to book per session, it should be the most expensive thing you offer.
Right?
Because remember packages, right, if someone books you for a whole year of meetings, they should get you at the minimum hourly rate that you're able to charge.
That's where the minimum hourly comes from.
If they can only book you for 4 sessions, they should pay more than the person who's paying for your entire year, per per hour anyway.
If they only wanna book you for 1 session, they should pay even higher than that.
Right?
Maybe, I don't know, up to you, 10% higher, 25% higher, whatever.
Anyway, so imagine this page where they can book your session as 2 booking calendars above each other.
Okay?
2 booking calendars.
The first booking calendar and depending on which you can you can decide whether which booking calendar comes above the other one.
But the first let's say the first booking calendar or the let's let's say the second booking calendar is your single session price, which is the highest price for your single session.
They they book it they can book it there, and there's more availability for that.
The booking calendar above that is your lower the lowest rate you're willing to offer per single session where you where you're not resentful.
And it could be 0.
At the very beginning, when you're offering your service, you'd be like, anyone who wants to try this thing out, I'm stoked.
Now if they wanna pay me $75 an hour or $150 an hour, I'm even more stoked and it's justified.
I think I'm worth that.
But if they wanna pay me now it's usually not 0 and a 150.
That doesn't make any sense.
But it's usually more like 0 and, like, 50.
Okay?
Something like that.
Or like 50 and a 100.
Right?
Or 50 and a 125 or something like that.
So so the two calendars are different prices for the same session service, except the one that pays more has more availability.
Do you see where I'm going with this?
So it's like, if you have 10 hours per client meetings per week, maybe 7 of those hours are for the paid or for the higher price session, and only 3 of your weekly hours are the lower the the lower or free client sessions.
In that way, they go, oh, wow.
You're already booked out 3 weeks before I can meet with you?
Yeah.
Because you you have, let's say, 1, 2, or 3 free sessions per week.
You already booked out 3, 4, 5 weeks.
Oh, if I wanna get you this week, I can just pay the $50 or pay the $200 or whatever to get you this week because, of course, being able to meet with you sooner is more valuable than, like, having to wait however long you have to make them wait because your free calendar or your low cost calendar is already booked out.
The tapering strategy, it puts your service in the appropriate understanding of price.
This is my normal price, and this is a, a price.
You can even call it guess what?
You can even call hey.
This is a price for those of you who can't pay much and, you know, but who need the service anyway.
No.
Really.
You could you can name it that way if you want to.
So if you do it that way, I prefer you have 2 two prices.
This is a normal price of most of my clients, and this is this is the price for people who, need some help or, you know, can't pay as much or BIPOC or whatever you wanna name it is fine.
Okay?
So, anyway, try out the tapering strategy and notice that, you're gonna get more sessions booked.
Now, of course, many of your sessions are gonna be at the lower price, but guess what?
That also means you get to practice a lot.
You get to practice a lot at low pressure.
Hey, they paid my my low price.
It's not as high of a pressure as they paid my $200 or $150 price.
Right?
You get to practice a lot and then over time, the reason why it's called tapering strategy, is that over time you taper the prices.
So say now it's going to be, instead of 0, now it's, you know, $35 at the low price versus the high price being a 100 or whatever, and you keep tapering up.
The the prices keep going up and up, and also your availability can go up and down.
So, like, in the beginning, you're like, listen.
I I'm just I'm just happy if someone signs up even for free, even at low cost.
So you have you know, end up having more calendar slots.
You wanna open up more calendar slots for the free because you wanna practice more.
And over time, you taper that down while you taper up the paid slots.
And you could apply this tapering strategy, by the way, to anything.
You could tape you could apply it to packages too to say, alright, I've got a BIPOC package or slots for this package.
3 of them.
Sorry.
They've been taken already.
Alright?
You could you could use the regular slot, which is still incredibly worthwhile or or whatever.
So you can you can you could do packages that way too.
But you just if you do packages, you probably have to, like, manually update the website unless you have some fancy software to go, oh, yeah.
I've got you you have 10 in stock this month.
Now you only have, 3 left in stock or something like that.

This is really how I would do things when I'm when I'm starting over when if I were starting over with an offer, that's what I would do as well.
