The only limitation is you cannot create an affiliate link for a social media post and post it to that same platform. For example, you cannot create an affil link for a Facebook post and share it on Facebook itself (because FB will remove the affiliating) however you can share that affiliate link via any other platform or via email, and it will track properly.
